About
A plan on paper beats a plan in someone’s head.
StopViolence.us helps small organisations, the ones without a safety department, write down how they prevent and respond to violence at work, using the program OSHA describes.
A written program for workplace violence prevention, incorporated into an organization’s overall safety and health program, offers an effective approach to reduce or eliminate the risk of violence in the workplace.
What this site is
A free Risk Check, a private plan builder laid out on OSHA’s five building blocks, printable wall cards and paper forms, and a page of national help lines for anyone who needs them. It is run by WeldonPC, a small computer services company in Ohio.
The public pages carry one banner ad from AdEngine, WeldonPC’s own small ad network; for now it shows WeldonPC’s own services. Get help now, your plan and the paper forms never show it. Details: Privacy, Advertising.
What it is not
- Not a government agency, hotline, charity or campaign, and not connected with any of the organisations whose help lines we list.
- Not legal advice or a compliance review. Some states set their own requirements for workplace violence plans.
- Not a threat assessment of any person, and not a place to report an incident. Incidents go on the paper form and to the police.
- Not a crisis service. In danger, call 911.
Nothing can guarantee that an employee will not become a victim of workplace violence.
